The “Democratic Gathering” bloc held its regular meeting in Clemenceau, chaired by the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, during which several important political issues related to the current situation in the country were discussed. In this context, the necessity of adopting a calm and realistic approach to the issue of confining arms to the authority of the state was emphasized, with the aim of strengthening stability and security in Lebanon.

The bloc members expressed the importance of consensus among various political parties to achieve this goal, stressing that it is impossible to build a strong and institutional state without a central authority capable of enforcing respect for the law and the sovereignty of the state. They also highlighted the need for dialogue and cooperation among all groups, and the importance of addressing contentious issues through political and constitutional means.

During the meeting, the economic and social challenges facing Lebanon were discussed, with participants calling for intensified efforts to find effective solutions to improve citizens’ living conditions and to activate the role of government institutions to ensure the proper provision of basic services.

The meeting concluded by reaffirming the commitment to the principles of cooperation and democracy as the path toward achieving the desired reforms and building a better future for Lebanon.
